Abstract
Nach der EU-Osterweiterung am 1. Mai 2004 rückte die Frage in den Mittelpunkt, wie die Union ihre Beziehungen zu den neuen Nachbarn in Osteuropa und dem Mittelmeerraum gestalten soll. Die Nachbarschaft der EU ist vielfältiger geworden, und die Union hat sich entschlossen, dieser Vielfalt durch ein einheitliches Politikkonzept zu begegnen: der Europäischen Nachbarschaftspolitik (ENP).\n\nIn dem Band wird das Konzept der Nachbarschaftspolitik untersucht und ihre Auswirkungen auf die EU-Beziehungen zu den Nachbarn in Osteuropa und dem Mittelmeerraum analysiert. Darüber hinaus gilt das Augenmerk den Interessen der USA und Russlands sowie zentralen Politikbereichen wie der Außen-, Energie- und Migrationspolitik. Drei Jahre nach der britischen Initiative wird das nun vorliegende Konzept einer Prüfung unterzogen, die für Wissenschaftler und Fachjournalisten ebenso von Interesse ist wie für Mitarbeiter der nationalen und EU-Verwaltungen.\n\nMartin Koopmann arbeitet als Referent für deutsch-französische Beziehungen und europäische Integration bei der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Auswärtige Politik in Berlin. Christian Lequesne ist als Direktor des Centre français de recherche en sciences sociales in Prag tätig.
