Abstract
Uno de los fenomenos sociales mas significativos de finales del siglo XX cubano fue el reavivamiento eclesial. Del abanico de iglesias establecidas en Cuba, hubo dos en las que el reavivamiento se manifesto con mayor pujanza: la Iglesia catolica y la Iglesia bautista occidental. Pero ?como explicar este fenomeno en una nacion en la que, al triunfar la revolucion de 1959, se adopto el marxismo sovietico, uno de cuyos componentes fundamentales es el ateismo cientifico como ideologia y metodologia para la refundacion de la nacion, relegando a la iglesia a la periferia social por mas de 30 anos?
