Présentation « Dossier spécial » Femmes et entrepreneuriatDepuis quelque temps déjà, l'entrepreneuriat est un sujet qui suscite beaucoup d'intérêt, particulièrement dans le développement économique.Par exemple, le ministère de l'Économie et de l'Innovation (MEI, anciennement MDEI) a lancé la Stratégie québécoise de l'entrepreneuriat en 2011 afin d'offrir plus de soutien à tous les entrepreneurs et entrepreneures du Québec.On tient alors pour acquis que ces derniers sont tous égaux et qu'ils ont accès aux mêmes ressources.Or, ce constat n'est pas toujours exact.En effet, certains auteurs relèvent des distinctions spécifiques au genre de l'entrepreneur.Par exemple, les femmes croient qu'elles doivent investir davantage que les hommes pour réussir financièrement (Sperber et Linder, 2019) et qu'il est important que leur succès se définisse par l'équilibre entre le travail et la vie privée, et ce, au sein d'entreprises plus petites et plus stables (Sperber et Linder, 2019;Lee-Gosselin et Grise, 1990).Selon Slate (2007), les motivations premières des entrepreneures sont un désir de flexibilité et un intérêt particulier pour travailler avec des membres de leur famille.Au contraire, les motivations entrepreneuriales traditionnelles (qu'on attribue surtout aux hommes) demeurent le besoin de réalisation, la prise de risque, la tolérance à l'ambiguïté, le lieu de contrôle (locus of control), l'autoefficacité et la poursuite de buts déterminés (Shane et collab., 2003).Ces différences ont nécessairement des impacts sur la façon de se lancer en affaires et sur le type d'entreprise que les entrepreneures créent.
