Abstract
La Révolution tranquille voit la création au Québec d’un très grand nombre de structures au nom de l’accessibilité à l’éducation et aux études supérieures. Au cœur de toutes ces innovations, un organisme se démarque par sa « continuité » avec le passé, le Conseil supérieur de l’éducation. Dans le cadre de cet article, nous nous intéresserons aux premiers jours de cet organisme afin de saisir comment ses premiers membres ont interprété et opérationnalisé la mission qui leur a été confiée par la Commission Parent et le ministre de l’Éducation de l’époque, Paul Gérin-Lajoie. Ce regard est enrichi par une revue des commentaires et des reportages réalisés à propos du nouvel organisme. Ainsi, nous proposons un éclairage original sur les premières années de cet organisme réfléchi comme l’un des principaux piliers de l’effort de démocratisation et de justice sociale de la Révolution tranquille.
