Comment rendre compte de la mémoire d’une ville postindustrielle par le médium du cinéma ? Dans cet article, je présente un dispositif cinématographique construit autour de la collecte d’objets et de témoignages. En revisitant la notion d’« objet-témoin », je parcours les brocantes de la ville de Verviers afin d’acquérir d’anciennes navettes de métiers à tisser et de reconstruire leur histoire avec les vendeurs·euses qui s’en séparent. L’ensemble des récits collectés me permet de questionner, puis de représenter la « mémoire collective » de cette ville postindustrielle belge.
