Abstract
A música, tema deste artigo, há muito tempo é identificada como um meio de expressão universal. Ela consiste em um sistema capaz de mostrar e manifestar sensações, sentimentos e conceitos, estando constantemente presente em várias culturas e representando uma maneira da manifestação humana. Utilizando-se da metodologia de pesquisa bibliográfica, o presente artigo tem como objetivo compreender a importância da música no desenvolvimento e aprendizagem das crianças na Educação Infantil. Para isso primeiramente abordaremos o conceito de música, relataremos um breve histórico da música no mundo e no Brasil, falaremos também sobre a influência da música no desenvolvimento humano e principalmente no mundo das crianças, finalizando com a música na Educação Infantil onde serão abordados o papel do professor no processo de musicalização e algumas sugestões de atividades.
