El ectima gangrenoso es una infeccin rara de la piel, clsicamente asociada con Pseudomonas aeruginosa, otros agentes causales tambin han sido descritos como Streptococcus pyogenes, Staphylococcus aureus, Klebsiella pneumoniae, etctera. En pacientes inmunocomprometidos con neutropenia, la mayora de los casos son debido a Pseudomonas aeruginosa, planteando desafos especialmente en el diagnstico microbiolgico y terapia antimicrobiana. El diagnstico es eminentemente clnico, pero se debe confirmar mediante auxiliares diagnsticos (biopsia-cultivo, tincin Gram, examen histopatolgico), lo cual es de suma importancia para iniciar un tratamiento antibitico de manera temprana eficaz, ya que es un factor clave en el pronstico para la supervivencia de los pacientes peditricos. En este artculo realizamos la revisin retrospectiva de tres casos de ectima gangrenoso (EG) en pacientes inmunocomprometidos en un hospital de tercer nivel en la Ciudad de Mxico.
