Abstract
L’article cherche a montrer que le bien mourir est une preoccupation qui habite l’humanite depuis les debuts de l’histoire mais que les formes qu’il prend varie selon les periodes et les visions anthropologiques. C’est dans ce contexte general qu’il faut interpreter les conceptions religieuses du bien mourir. La premiere partie du texte met l’accent sur la diversite des conceptions du bien mourir au cours de l’histoire recente, particulierement au Quebec. La deuxieme partie presente le bien mourir dans une perspective religieuse faisant voir, d’une part, le fond commun de la vision de la bonne mort et, d’autre part, les conceptions specifiques du christianisme, du judaisme, de l’islam et du bouddhisme a ce propos. Dans la derniere partie, l’auteur discute de la contribution que peuvent apporter ces traditions dans la recherche contemporaine du bien mourir.
