Abstract
A Future Tense est un projet en cours dont l’objectif est de créer une pièce de théâtre verbatim intergénérationnelle à partir d’entretiens réalisés avec des adultes dans la vingtaine et des octogénaires. Robert Motum s’en sert comme étude de cas pour explorer les points de rencontre du théâtre verbatim, des pratiques en matière de soutien et des notions d’empathie, ainsi que pour montrer que la forme verbatim est un véhicule qui permet de représenter l’âge sur scène de manière responsable. Motum trouve un écho opportun dans les travaux de Margaret Morganroth Gullette et Anne Basting, des chercheures en études de l’âge, qui lui permettent d’analyser des questions d’ordre éthique survenues au cours du projet réalisé durant la pandémie de COVID-19.
