Abstract

Este artigo tem como objetivo discutir o conceito e reflexos da evasão escolar no Ensino Médio público na educação e prática escolar. Para tanto, utilizou-se a análise da literatura e o conteúdo de entrevistas realizadas com vinte e seis educadores de quatro escolas estaduais no município de Guarapuava/PR. A metodologia para levantamento de dados foi o estudo de caso, analisados pelo viés das representações sociais dos sujeitos envolvidos, tendo como pano de fundo o método materialista histórico. Recortou-se para a discussão, as respostas relacionadas às definições de evasão dos entrevistados, suas percepções dos reflexos da evasão na comunidade escolar e as ações realizadas para combater a evasão. Por fim, foi possível perceber que os discursos desenvolvidos sobre a evasão são diversos e refletem as ideologias que atravessam a escola, também foi possível perceber os avanços em relação às políticas públicas para a juventude que precisam ser discutidas para garantir o acesso e permanência de todos os estudantes à escola.
