Cette étude porte sur les conséquences des projections démographiques des Nations Unies, horizon 2050, et surtout horizon 2100, pour l'Afrique Tropicale, regroupant 46 des 56 états africains au sens onusien, considérant par exemple Mayotte et la Réunion /départements français/ comme des états africains. Ces projections, analysées ici, montrent la gravité de la situation. En effet, si rien n'est fait dès maintenant, l'Afrique Tropicale dépassera les 3.8 milliards d'habitants ! Avec un Nigéria à plus de 750 millions d'habitants, la RD Congo à plus de 300 millions d'habitants, la Tanzanie à près de 300 millions d'habitants, le Niger dont la population sera multipliée par 2.6 en moins d'un demi-siècle, etc... Ce ne sont que des prévisions certes, mais on aurait grand tort de ne pas les prendre au sérieux, principalement celles de 2050.
