Abstract
La France a apporté dans la seconde moitié du xxe siècle une contribution essentielle à la réussite du projet d’intégration graduelle de la Grèce au sein de l’Europe unie que s’était fixé le gouvernement hellénique après la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Les contacts diplomatiques et la coopération entre les dirigeants français et grecs eurent un impact décisif sur les négociations qui aboutirent dans un premier temps à l’association, puis à l’adhésion de la Grèce à la Communauté économique européenne (CEE). Des sources très diverses, conservées aux Archives générales de l’État hellénique, aux archives du ministère des Affaires étrangères grec et à la fondation Constantin G. Caramanlis, documentent ce processus sur plusieurs décennies et le rôle capital joué par le Premier ministre Caramanlis avec ses collaborateurs dans la conception et la mise en œuvre de la politique européenne grecque.
