Abstract
Notre introduction nous emmène vers ce qui porte en sociologie le joli nom d’itinérance : la marche. La marche dans la nature a en effet, comme la promenade, son espace littéraire et linguistique propre. Depuis Jean-Jacques Rousseau jusqu’aux écrivains contemporains qui ont affronté le Wild, nombreux sont en effet ceux qui ont raconté ce que « faire route à pied » veut dire. Ce dossier tente donc de donner une épaisseur à ce mot de marche, y compris sous ses habits neufs (marche sportive, marche extrême, marche culturelle), d’aller voir de près ce que le mot désigne, ainsi que ce qui est dit par des locuteurs situés historiquement, socialement, culturellement.
