Abstract
Dans ce travail nous nous proposons de présenter les résultats préliminaires d’une enquête réalisée aux étudiants de Français et Anglais avant de commencer les cours pour essayer de connaître quelles sont les représentations culturelles qu’ils ont au moment d’entamer l’apprentissage de la lecture en langue étrangère, car nous considérons que les stéréotypes que l’étudiant possède sur le ou les pays où ces langues sont parlées représentent un moteur ou un frein pour la construction du sens. À partir d’un corpus composé de l’imaginaire social et individuel venant des réponses des étudiants, nous nous proposons d’identifier les images que les étudiants ont sur la culture des principales pays francophones et anglophones (France, Angleterre, Canada, États Unis, Australie), on veut aussi essayer de déterminer si la découverte de cet imaginaire permet ou ne permet pas de faire évoluer les représentations et les images sur la langue et la culture étrangères étudiées.
