Abstract
Dans le contexte d’une reforme des services de sante mentale au Quebec, le ministere de la Sante et des Services sociaux a mis de l’avant au cours des dernieres annees le Plan d’action en sante mentale 2005-2010. Pour repondre aux besoins des personnes aux prises avec des troubles mentaux graves en particulier, ce plan propose entre autres deux mesures de soutien dans la communaute, soit le « suivi intensif en equipe » et le « soutien d’intensite variable ». Cet article apprehende la logique et les principaux elements des deux approches sous-jacentes a ces mesures, soit l’assertive community treatment et le case management. Enfin, pour degager une perspective plus large, il situe la promotion de ces approches a partir de l’experience nord-americaine et britannique pour illustrer brievement la dynamique de leur developpement au cours de la derniere decennie.
