Dans notre expérience, ce qui permet, en tant que professionnel·le, d’aider les victimes à se libérer de l’emprise conjugale et familiale est la bonne connaissance des étapes et des mécanismes de l’emprise. Nous les exposons dans cet article en présentant d’une part comment ce type de relation s’installe dans un couple et d’autre part comment il a un impact sur l’estime de soi et l’autonomisation de jeunes ayant grandi auprès d’un parent auteur·e d’emprise. Nos propos sont illustrés par une vignette clinique.
