Abstract
Structurée telle une compulsion de répétition mortifère, l’oeuvre cinématographique de Lars von Trier Melancholia s’ouvre sur une série de majestueux tableaux où, déjà, on peut deviner le choc imminent de la planète éponyme avec la nôtre, la Terre. Analogie entre les excès de la nature et ceux de la pulsion, tout commence donc par la révélation d’un savoir intolérable, par la projection cosmique d’une angoisse intérieure et l’anticipation de la fin du monde. Pulsion de mort : nous nous apprêtons à tragiquement visiter un monde toujours déjà condamné, déserté par le désir. Nous nous attarderons donc à repérer et décrire ici cette marche sans concession de la pulsion infantile à l’intérieur du film Melancholia, et à voir comment Justine, entre autres représentants, est révélatrice de cette inénarrable catastrophe que représente l’absence de désir. Se révélera alors la vacuité de toute tentative à faire taire l’infantile – inaltérable fantôme hantant chaque image, chaque parole, chaque geste.
