Abstract
Jasper National Park, the largest national park in the Canadian Rockies, is located in the Province of Alberta, north of Banff National Park and west of Edmonton. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1984, the park received this recognition for its landscapes of mountain peaks, lakes, canyons, and the Columbia Icefields. The terminus of the Athabasca Glacier, one of the eight glaciers fed by the ice fields, is visible as one of many vistas along Highway 93, which travels along the spine of the park.
