Réinventer l'attente du bus : Principes de conception pour les espaces environnant des abribus / Reimagining waiting for the bus: Design principles for spaces surrounding bus shelters
Bibliographic record
Abstract
In 2017, we launched an international ideas competition, titled “MORE THAN WAITING FOR THE BUS” to explore the important, yet complex design question of how spaces sur- rounding transit stops can be altered to let commuters feel that they are doing more than simply standing around and waiting. You can find the brief of the competition on pages 112 to 119. \n \nThe competition brief asked young designers from around the world to propose contemporary pieces of design that could help invigorate the space surrounding four bus stops in the city of Montreal. The intention of this endeavor was to explore how these solely utilitarian, and often mun- dane, locations could become interactive, poetic, critical and meaningful spaces highlighting the significance of nature, art, and design. Alongside the design ideas, the challenge also sought a series of design principles that could be adap- \nted to the general design of sites surrounding bus stops.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
