La compréhension de la représentation conceptuelle des mots détermine un simple affichage visuel des connexions basées sur le sens entre un mot ou une phrase et un ensemble de mots apparentés dans les mondes réel et littéraire. Dans la créativité littéraire, les auteurs utilisent des noms pour la caractérisation et les constructions thématiques que l’on trouve dans certains romans africains des langues européennes telles que le français. Un nègre a violé une blonde à Dallas de Ramonu Sanusi fait partie de ces romans. Fondé sur la théorie de la signification, cet article étudie la composition unique des noms yorubas dans le roman en relation avec leurs contextes et leurs contributions à l’avancement de l’intrigue et du thème du roman. Des noms comme Agbako, Baba Esu, Ajanaku et Boripe participent à l’intrigue et à la construction thématique du roman. Les noms sont correctement enracinés dans les récits. Une mauvaise lecture des noms peut affecter la compréhension du roman. L’article conclut que le trait du caractère joue un rôle important dans la transaction de sens entre l’écrivain et le lecteur.
