Abstract
El FACES IV (Olson, Gorall y Tiesel, 2006) es un instrumento de medida para el funcionamiento familiar utilizado en varios medios de investigacion y de practica en Quebec. El presente estudio tiene como objetivo la validacion de la estructura factorial de la version francesa del FACES IV y permite examinar su coherencia interna, su veracidad de prueba-reprueba y su vigencia simultanea con 123 familias (padres y/o adolescentes) de la poblacion general y 256 familias que reciben servicios de intervencion de crisis. La estructura factorial de la herramienta presenta indicios de ajustes adecuados tanto para los padres como los adolescentes fiadores. Ademas posee propiedades psicometricas satisfactorias que confirman su utilizacion posible tanto con una poblacion general como clinica. Sin embargo, los resultados invitan a la prudencia en la utilizacion de la herramienta con adolescentes.
