Abstract
L’aisance à l’oral en langue cible est une habileté essentielle pour permettre aux personnes immigrantes de participer à des conversations dans différents contextes de la vie courante (Derwing, 2017). Cependant, cette habileté est peu exploitée en salle de classe et le matériel conçu pour le faire n’est pas toujours optimal (Rossiter et coll., 2010). Cela ne fait pas exception dans les cours offerts aux personnes immigrantes en apprentissage de la langue cible et de la littératie au Québec (Fillion, 2021). C’est pourquoi nous avons décidé de proposer deux prototypes d’activités ayant pour but de travailler l’aisance avec cette clientèle, et ce, sans qu’ils et elles n’aient à utiliser l’écrit ni à analyser la langue. Nous suggérons d’abord une adaptation de la technique 4/3/2 reconnue pour aider les élèves scolarisés à gagner en aisance. Par la suite, nous présentons la technique « intonaisance », que nous avons développée à partir des recherches ayant montré l’importance d’enseigner les formules et l’intonation, puis nous donnons un exemple d’activité à réaliser en classe.
