Abstract
Nesta entrevista à Aurora, o neoliberalismo esteve no centro da conversa. Seria o momento histórico do fim ou enfraquecimento do neoliberalismo? Laval fala sobre o pensamento de Foucault e Bourdieu acerca do neoliberalismo, expondo com esses intelectuais são importantes para refletir o tema. Também problematiza como o neoliberalismo permeia as religiões no Ocidente, a relação de líderes de extrema direita com o neoliberalismo, assim como suas percepções sobre o papel do Estado diante da pandemia de Covid-19. 
 Para Laval, a angústia pela pandemia de Covid-19 não gerou conscientização dos sujeitos por uma mudança radical no modelo neoliberal e no capitalismo destrutivo. Existe um longo caminho para a transformação das subjetividades. Um longo tempo de crise ainda deve atravessar os imaginários por décadas. Uma das práticas de mudança envolve mais democracia nas instituições de conhecimento para criar novas subjetividades, além de construir o comum, isto é, “regime de práticas, de lutas, de experiências, de instituições e de pesquisas que visam passar para um depois do capitalismo, inscrevendo esse depois no presente”. Uma democracia real depende desse ‘depois’ do capitalismo e da superação do modelo neoliberal. Christian Laval aponta para esse “depois” e a um maior princípio de responsabilidade para a preservação do planeta.
