Abstract
Avaliar a estrutura, o desenvolvimento e a funcionalidade de famílias de adolescentes com doença falciforme e, implementar intervenções de enfermagem identificadas. Estudo qualitativo com base teórica nas categorias estrutural, desenvolvimental e funcional, além de intervenções propostas pelo Modelo Calgary; estratégia metodológica: estudo de caso. Os dados foram coletados por meio de visitas domiciliares junto a quatro famílias de cinco adolescentes com doença falciforme, no período de maio a novembro de 2019. Destacou-se na avaliação que as famílias carregam o medo da discriminação étnica, bem como o preconceito de que a doença, por ser crônica, torne limitantes os acometidos por ela. Todas apresentaram em sua rede de apoio elementos oriundos de outros sistemas, que não o familiar, como vizinhos e instituições de saúde. O Modelo Calgary permitiu uma visão expandida da família e as intervenções implementadas foram importantes para o equilíbrio entre as fragilidades e fortalezas.
