Abstract
Étude de l’intertextualité entre Les Oiseaux d’Alfred Hitchcock (1963) et Oedipe Roi de Sophocle dont la première eut lieu à Athènes en 427 av. J.-C. en trois volets: d’abord, les similitudes chez ces auteurs des mécaniques de production, ensuite les ressemblances structurelles entre le film et la pièce, et enfin leur lien thématique profond, ce qui implique de la part de Hitchcock une bonne connaissance de la tragédie de Sophocle. Les oiseaux de Hitchcock sont assimilables à une peste « avienne », semblable au point de vue fonctionnel et structurel à la peste sur laquelle s’ouvre l’ Oedipe Roi .
