Abstract
L’Université d’Ottawa a inauguré un programme de certification en langue seconde (français ou anglais) visant à permettre aux étudiants ayant un bon niveau de compétence de le faire reconnaître officiellement. Le Certificat de compétence en langue seconde sanctionne un niveau de bilinguisme avancé dans les quatre compétences, selon un système qui correspond aux exigences de bilinguisme de la Fonction publique canadienne. Un cours en partie autodidacte sur CD-ROM a été mis sur pied pour aider les candidats à la certification à se préparer efficacement au test qui leur délivrera ce certificat. Le présent article retrace la genèse du cours, depuis sa version papier-crayon jusqu’au produit fini sur CD-ROM. On détaille les étapes de développement, depuis l’élaboration de la structure hybride du cours jusqu’à la réalisation d’un cours multimédia essentiellement autodidacte (75 % en auto enseignement sur CD-ROM et 25 % avec un assistant).
