Convidaram-me para fazer um artigo sobre os computadores e as crianças em idade pré-escolar, a ser integrado num número temático sobre Educação e Cidadania. Aceitei o convite, pois há já uns anos (desde 1986, para ser mais precisa) que me interesso e desenvolvo investigação neste domínio. Fiz a minha dissertação de mestrado com crianças do pré-escolar e a minha tese de doutoramento com crianças do 1º ciclo. Em ambos os estudos utilizei os computadores e determinados programas informáticos para conceber e desenvolver, em estreita colaboração com as educadoras e professoras e em contexto de sala de aula, ambientes de aprendizagem estimulantes. Actualmente estou a desenvolver uma investigação sobre a utilização dos computadores por crianças e jovens no ambiente familiar. Como fruto deste trabalho que reflexões posso partilhar?
