L'A. decrit les etapes de la mise en place du systeme d'impression publique de documents, accessible aux usagers avec une carte de paiement, a la bibliotheque de l'Universite de Guelph (Ontario) : choix du materiel et du logiciel, processus d'impression, systeme de securite. La configuration choisie par la bibliotheque est mise en parallele avec les specifications du fournisseur. Les couts lies au materiel, aux droits de licence du logiciel et a la maintenance ont ete analyses pour decider d'un prix par page et essayer d'obtenir un recouvrement total des fonds. Le service d'impression publique, qui est la continuation logique des services de photocopie traditionnellement assures par les bibliotheques, est amene a se developper.
