Abstract
Studi recenti suggeriscono che l’alessitimia può costituire un sintomo nei pazienti neoplastici, in modo particolare correlato a disturbi psicopatologici come l’ansia e la depressione. Altresì, studi condotti in gruppi di pazienti con specifiche lesioni cerebrali hanno rilevato una correlazione tra alessitimia e alcuni deficit neuropsicologici, particolarmente a carico delle funzioni frontali e delle funzioni visuospaziali. A tale scopo è stato studiato un gruppo di 21 pazienti con neoplasie cerebrali primarie, ai quali è stata presentata la scala di auto-somministrazione per la misurazione dell’alessitimia Toronto Alexithymia Scale-20 items (TAS-20). Sono state inoltre valutate una serie di funzioni neurocognitive e psicopatologiche al fine di correlare la presenza/assenza di alessitimia con delle distinte variabili neurocomportamentali e pertanto con specifici correlati neurali.
