Desde la decada de los ochenta las privatizaciones y las desregulaciones de empresas publicas se han erigido como instrumentos fundamentales de politica economica utilizados por los gobiernos de multitud de paises, que estan inmersos en una realidad mundial profundamente afectada por el fenomeno de la globalizacion. En este trabajo se evaluaran los rasgos mas destacados de la experiencia internacional. Para ello, se analiza como se ha llevado a cabo el proceso privatizador: que objetivos lo han promovido, a traves de que metodos se ha realizado, como ha afectado a cada uno de los agentes que han participado en el proceso, asi como sus resultados. De esa forma se puede establecer conclusiones sobre lo realizado hasta el momento, destacando sus ventajas e inconvenientes
