Abstract
La plupart des pays développés a mis en place des systèmes publics d’assurance maladie qui peuvent être universels (comme au Canada ou en France) ou réservés à une fraction de la population (les personnes âgées et certaines catégories de personnes défavorisées aux États-Unis). La façon dont ces systèmes sont structurés a un impact sur l’accès aux soins desménages, mais aussi sur leur acquisition d’assurance complémentaire et leur participation au marché du travail. Nous cherchons ici à rendre compte de ces arbitrages dans un modèle théorique aussi simple que possible afin de proposer un cadre d’évaluation des conséquences redistributives de différents systèmes publics d’assurance santé.
