This chapter focuses on wild oat (Avena fatua) that causes yield losses in wheat (Triticum aestivum), barley (Hordeum vulgare), rape (Brassica napus [Brassica napus var. oleifera]) and Brassica rapa [Brassica campestris] in Canada, and provides an overview of the fungal (including Drechslera avenacea [Pyrenophora chaetomioides] and Cephalosporium spp.) and bacterial candidates potentially useful for its management. Future research prospects are recommended.
