Abstract
본 연구의 목적은 일반유아의 장애와 장애유아에 대한 이해를 통해 장애 통합교육의 실태를 파악하고, 그 질을 높이기 위한 방안 모색의 기초자료를 마련하고자 한다. 이를 위해 유아교육기관의 장애 통합교육 실시유무에 따른 일반유아의 장애와 장애유아의 이해정도를 측정하였으며, 더불어 실제 장애 통합학급에서는 어떠한 양상으로 상호작용이 진행되고 있는지를 관찰을 통해 살펴보았다. 그 결과, 먼저 장애에 대한 인식 영역에서는 장애 통합학급의 일반유아가 비통합 학급의 일반유아에 비해 유의미하게 높았으나 장애유아에 대한 수용도 영역에서는 유의미한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 다음으로 장애 통합학급에서 관찰된 상호작용의 양상은 장애유아와 일반유아 간 상호작용은 교사 중재에 의해 이루어지는 경향이 두드러졌으며, 일반유아의 장애유아에 대한 거부적․공격적 태도가 빈번히 관찰되었다. 이러한 결과는 일반유아의 장애유아에 대한 수용이 통합학급에서의 경험만으로는 큰 실효를 거둘 수 없다는 것을 확인할 수 있었으며, 일반유아가 장애유아를 친구로 수용하기에는 장애 통합학급에서의 경험만으로는 부족하며, 실제적인 교육적 접근과 새로운 교사의 역할이 요구된다.
