Abstract
This chapter examines the development of ethnoscapes or those areas of cities with a high concentration of ethnic minorities, and analyses the way in which multiculturalism has become an increasingly attractive selling point for city tourism. It focuses in particular on examples from Canada. In conclusion, the city government's involvement of the diverse communities in plan formulation and management, and acknowledgement of the profound uncertainties over the impact of an emerging visitor economy, will promote cultural tourism development.
