epuis ses débuts, la critique féministe appliquée au champ cinématographique a cherché à cerner puis à dénoncer les stéréotypes, notamment en remettant en question la dualité sexuelle, c'est-à-dire l'opposition obligée entre hommes et femmes, et la représentation incontournable d'un univers typiquement masculin, confronté à la jungle féminine.Apprendre à voir et à représenter les choses autrement s'avère donc l'une des stratégies mises de l'avant par la critique féministe au cinéma, entre autres, et visant la réécriture de l'histoire ou des histoires : « le discours féminin au cinéma ne peut s'ériger qu'en tant que contre-discours ou re-vision 1 », par la promotion de films à portée féministe.Or la vie est-elle possible sans stéréotypes ?Le cinéma féministe, malgré toute sa vigilance, peut-il y échapper ou ne risque-t-il pasde mettre en place d'autres stéréotypes tout aussi réducteurs que ceux qu'il cherche à débusquer ?Voilà ce sur quoi nous nous pencherons ici, en nous inspirant essentiellement des œuvres filmiques de Patricia Rozema, une cinéaste qui se définit comme une féministe « naturelle 2 ».
