Abstract
El presente trabajo analiza el area de montaje de una fabrica de baterias para automoviles, area que es un punto critico en la linea de produccion de la compania. Se disena una de las practicas de calidad denominada 5s´s para mejorar las estaciones de trabajo fomentando el compromiso en los trabajadores. Se describe la situacion actual del area de montaje, se identifica los problemas y se analizan con herramientas estadisticas. El objetivo es maximizar la eficiencia global de los equipos y procesos mediante indicadores de desempeno que seran monitoreados por medio de formatos de seguimiento de acciones de mejora. Se disena tarjetas de activos y guias operativas; se reestructura el plan de mantenimiento y se establece el uso correcto de ordenes de trabajo con el proposito de lograr que el operador se involucre en las actividades diarias de mantenimiento. Finalmente se establece planes de capacitacion y entrenamiento para todo el personal.
