La cohabitation entre l'homme et les especes sauvages pose quelques problemes qui ont conduit les legislateurs a qualifier des especes de nuisibles et a definir leurs modalites de destruction. Apres une presentation des especes en question et des degâts qu'elles occasionnent ce travail evoque la reglementation du piegeage dans les autres pays de l'Union Europeenne. Il detaille l'accord sur les normes internationales de piegeage sans cruaute signe par le Canada, la Federation de Russie et l'Union Europeenne et evoque les enjeux de cet accord. C'est enfin l'art du piegeage tel qu'il est pratique en France aujourd'hui qui sera decrit sans oublier ses nombreuses applications dans la gestion des especes sauvages.
