La hidropesía fetal de tipo no inmune (HFNI) es una causa importante de morbimortalidad perinatal, presentándose con una mortalidad entre el 50 y el 100 %. El desarrollo y la puesta en práctica de las medidas preventivas para la enfermedad hemolítica perinatal ha conducido a un aumento relativo en la incidencia de la HFNI. La HFNI es un grupo heterogéneo de diferentes entidades. En algunos casosla fisiopatología de los desórdenes subyacentes que conducen al desarrollo de las hidropesías fetales está realmente clara. En muchos otros casos, sin embargo, el mecanismo patogénico no está del todo claro y la conexión entre NIFH y el subyacente es simplemente una asociación. Se ha realizado un estudio retrospectivo de todos los fetos con diagnóstico de hidropesía no inmune realizados en nuestrocentro y posterior revisión del tema. El período de estudio es de 6 años completos (desde enero de 1995 a diciembre de 2001)
