Abstract
La Ruta de la Plata es la otra via en el Camino de Santiago, entrecruzandose la ortodoxa procedente de Roncesvalles con la aqui estudiada, en la provincia de Leon. No obstante, si bien es cierto, que estos dos caminos en busca del apostol Santiago son los convencionales, retomando la Ruta de la Plata y llegando a Benavente, peregrinos de todos los tiempos siguiendo La Canada Sanabrense en el Norte de Zamora, configuran otro sendero de andantes, que el tiempo ha ido clarificando, desde la perspectiva del historiador de la medicina en una serie de hospitales de peregrinos y algun monasterios que atendian la problematica de la llamada enfermedad del peregrino. Estos entornos y contornos sanitarios, son los que los autores de este trabajo han intentado estudiar en este libro.
