Abstract
As a math and science teacher, I am often perplexed by students’ dislike of the subjects I teach. Particularly mathematics, where students are reluctant to learn and are often satisfied with not understanding the concepts we cover in the classroom; they attribute their lack of understanding to a deficiency of innate abilities or skills with respect to mathematics. After only a couple of years of experience as an educator in the math classroom, I have realized that there is a shortfall in an inherent enjoyment of math among many students.
