Abstract
The paper presents an overview of a wide range of events in the education policy developments of the second half of the 2007. The author asserts that the period is not only memorable for the 50th Anniversary of the Treaty of Rome, but for the launch of the New Integrated programme for Lifelong learning, new phase of European Community and the United States of America and Canada cooperation in higher education and vocational education and training, Communication from the Commission to the Council and the European Parliament on Improving the quality of Teacher Education, as well as Decision № 2317/2003/EC of the European Parliament and the Council of 5 December 2003 establishing a programme for enhancement of quality of higher education and the promotion of intercultural understanding through cooperation with third countries.
