Abstract
Le Gabon, pays d'Afrique centrale anciennement colonise par la France, a garde dans son patrimoine juridique les regles issues du droit francais. Neanmoins, ce pays reste encore impregne de ses anciennes coutumes ; celles-ci sont particulierement enracinees dans le domaine de la famille. Le mariage en droit gabonais constitue un des domaines juridiques ou l'on observe une confrontation entre droit moderne ecrit et coutumes. Le droit moderne gabonais en matiere de mariage est un veritable droit hybride, un melange entre droit francais et coutumes, plus ou moins ancestrales. C'est ce caractere hybride qu'il convient d'analyser et de comprendre afin d'atteindre un ensemble normatif coherent et solide.
