Abstract
A deficiência visual apresenta um número considerável de pessoas acometidas a esta deficiência. O projeto visa a obtenção de informações sobre a quantidade de alunos atendidos no Centro de Atendimento Especializado na área de Deficiência Visual de Umuarama PR – CAEDV, realizar um levantamento sobre as causas das deficiências, bem com o atendimento pedagógico para cada caso. O CAEDV de Umuarama atende 97 alunos que apresentam diagnóstico de deficiência visual abrangendo cegueira total, baixa visão e surdo-cegueira. A faixa etária de atendimento entre 1 a 74 anos de idade, o atendimento de cada aluno é realizado de 1 a 3 vezes por semana dependendo do grau de necessidade de cada aluno. Após a análise dos planos de trabalho docente desenvolvido para cada aluno verificou-se que os mesmos estão em consonância com a sua necessidade de atendimento para seu aprendizado levando em consideração o diagnóstico realizado.
