C'è poca documentazione sull'origine della psicoterapia della Gestalt in Canada e sulla nascita della ricerca in questo approccio. Questo articolo fornisce informazioni sulla fondazione dell'Istituto di Gestalt di Toronto (GIT), che ha preso origine dalla comunità gestaltica del Lago Cowichan.
