Abstract
El objetivo de esta investigación fue analizar la autoestima en mujeres desde la interpretación de sus relatos de vida. Se empleó el método cualitativo, con un diseño de campo etnográfico, y tipo de investigación analítica. El instrumento fue la entrevista semiestructurada aplicado a una muestra no probabilística de doce mujeres. Los resultados obtenidos reflejaron una autoestima femenina no limitada a lo individual, incluyente de lo colectivo desde historias y procesos diversos. Se concluye que la carga social implícita en los estereotipos de género androcentristas incide en la construcción de la autoestima de estas mujeres.
