Abstract
Une verrière sous le ciel, le roman de la Tchécoslovaque Lenka Horňáková-Civade, raconte la première année d’exil à Paris d’une jeune fille de dix-huit ans, Ana. Ce séjour est pour elle l’occasion de s’interroger sur les idiomes qu’elle pratique, le tchèque et le français. L’antagonisme entre sa langue d‘adoption, langue de culture et de liberté parlée dans sa famille depuis des générations, et sa langue originelle, langage de la subordination, est finalement dépassé, comme se trouve apaisé le conflit entre l’adolescente rebelle et ses parents. Butée dans le mutisme au début du roman, Ana trouve finalement dans l’expression l’occasion d’affirmer sa nouvelle identité.
