Abstract
Cette recherche étudie les missions des médias audiovisuels de service public et le contrôle que les régulateurs nationaux exercent dans les cadres nationaux de 18 pays européens, africains et du Moyen-Orient membres du Réseau francophone des régulateurs des médias, à partir de données recueillies en 2019 auprès des organes de régulation de chaque pays. D’une part, elle dresse un panorama des missions assignées aux médias de service public ainsi que leurs difficultés pour les assurer. D’autre part, elle aborde la régulation qui est appliquée à ces médias de service public sous le prisme des méthodes de contrôle et des relations qu’entretiennent les régulateurs et les médias.
