Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

In Reply We thank Luo and Fei for their interest in our article, 1 and are pleased to answer their questions about our findings and conclusions. In response to their concern that there exists an "increasing rate of colonization in the pediatric population without any known risk factors" and that we attributed this increase to detection methodology, we concur that we identified no significant differences based on the technology used. However, we also found no difference in the prevalence of Clostridioides difficile over multiple decades (ie, before 1990 vs 2010 to 2020; 1990 to 1999 vs 2010 to 2020; and 2000 to 2009 vs 2010 to 2020). As nucleic acid testing is presumably more sensitive than prior techniques and is increasingly common in recent years, this consistency might actually indicate diminishing rates of asymptomatic carriage, but we hesitate to presume such a downtrend in colonization.

Fetched live from OpenAlex and de-inverted. Abstracts are not stored in this database: the inverted indexes are 8.6 GB of the frame’s 9.3 GB of text, and the host has 13 GB free.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
