Abstract
Welcome to the 75th American Academy for Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine (AACPDM) Annual Meeting and second ever virtual meeting.In keeping with the spirit of our host city, Quebec City, our theme this year is in French: 'On y va!', meaning 'Let's go!'.Along with the program committee co-chairs Drs Anna McCormick and Julieanne Sees and the AACPDM staff (Erin, Mckenzie, and Tamara), we have gone to great lengths to enhance the networking and learning potential of this virtual format.Our presidential guest speaker, Dr Damon Tweedy, will help us in our effort to focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion as we strive to emerge from our recent worldwide challenges.The academy leadership believes that we are better together.On y va!The meeting schedule will be on Eastern Standard Time (EST), consistent with our host city.Course start times and formats are adjusted to maximize the opportunity for all attendees to participate in real-time.During the scheduled sessions, presenters will be available to answer questions through the online chat with additional opportunities to ask questions after the session is done.We want to thank all presenters and keynote speakers for creating their virtual content.To promote networking, the Wednesday evening welcome reception will feature a Jeopardy game including 75th Anniversary trivia!For the Friday night networking dinner, we encourage attendees to 'sit at a table' with past presidents and academy leaders to participate with our mixologist guided 75th anniversary cocktail/mocktail creation pre-and post-meal and to experiment with a French-Canadian inspired menu recommendation with wine pairing guidance to celebrate our 75th year in a fun and engaging way.Other than the full slate of interactive pre-conferences sessions, all content is included with your registration.Access to meeting content will be available through September 2022.Therefore, you won't have to choose which courses to attend.You can attend any that are of interest to you!For many of us who are engaged with helping individuals with childhood-onset disabilities reach their potential, annual meetings of the AACPDM have served to navigate through new knowledge and evidence together.We have been doing this for 75 years.Thus, we are pleased to publish this collection of this year's virtual meeting abstracts.The abstracts reflect diversity, pertinent clinical research questions, advances in the field, interdisciplinarity, and international collaboration.We look forward to our exciting and stimulating virtual meeting!On y va!
