Pourquoi les juridictions financières françaises ont-elle un rôle à l’échelle internationale ? De par l’histoire, pour contribuer au rayonnement de la France et de son modèle d’institution supérieure de contrôle, pour enrichir leurs propres travaux d’exemples étrangers et aider leurs homologues étrangers, enfin pour renforcer la qualité des audits des organisations internationales. Les principaux moyens employés sont la coopération bilatérale avec des Institutions de même maturité ou moins avancées, la coopération multilatérale dans des enceintes mondiales, européennes ou francophones, et les mandats de commissariats aux comptes d’organisations internationales dont la France est membre. Dans tous ces domaines, l’action de la Cour s’est nettement renforcée ces dernières années, mais de nouvelles ambitions sont nées, en particulier avec les jumelages lancés avec les Cours algérienne ou sénégalaise, et avec le mandat d’audit externe de l’ONU obtenu en novembre 2021, qui engagera les forces vives de la Cour et des Chambres régionales et territoriales des comptes.
